SPRINGTIME AT ANANDA TO OPEN IN APRIL 20,000 Tulips in Bloom at Crystal Hermitage Gardens at Ananda Village

Nevada City, Calif. — Enjoy a place of peace, meditation and beauty by visiting a gorgeous colorful tulip garden at Springtime at Ananda at Crystal Hermitage April 10-May 5 and Mother’s Day Weekend May 11-12.

The public is invited to tour a hillside garden featuring awe-inspiring views of the Tahoe National Forest and the Yuba River Canyon. The gardens will feature more than 20,000 tulips this years, including unusual varieties like parrot tulips and fringed and lily-shaped tulips. Visitors can enjoy the blooms while strolling through paths that wind through pools, waterfalls, statuary and a chapel inspired by the Little Church of St. Francis of Assisi.

About 20,000 people visited the tulips last year. Some drove as much as three hours to take in the scene. “My favorite spot on earth,” said one visitor. “One instantly feels the radiant calmness and joy underlying each peaceful nook of this paradise.” Crystal Hermitage is part of Ananda Village, an intentional community founded more than 50 years ago by Swami Kriyananda. The more than 200 residents are devotees of Paramhansa Yogananda, who was a leading teacher of yoga in the West and the author of the influential spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi. The tulip garden will be open seven days a week 10am-5pm. April 10-May 5. Dinner and lunch options, and meditation instruction will be available. Tickets are $12.50 for weekdays and $15 for weekends and will be sold only online at crystalhermitage.com. For more information, call 530-478-7587.
