Arden Fair’s UnchARTed art program presents, The Heart of Sacramento, a month-long gallery (4/12-5/11) celebrating our city’s current and past Black artists, and the local artists and organizations who have contributed to Arden Fair’s UnchARTed arts program.

Guests will have the opportunity to view two exhibitions: Black Creativity at the Heart of Sacramento and UnchARTed Through the Years. The Exhibitions Black Creativity at the Heart of Sacramento, Curated by Faith J. McKinnie

Hours: Wednesday – Sunday from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Within the history of Sacramento is a dynamic story of how Black artists have built a community and uplifted our city with arts and culture. This story endures as a new generation of artists continue to build paths and forge new ideas.

This exhibition is a confluence of generations and stories featuring the Black artists at the Heart of Sacramento. Featured Artists: Aliyah Sidqe, Beth Consetta Rubel, Dreaming Black, Dwight Head, Gerry GOS” Simpson, Jermaine Tilson, Joha Harrison, Juanita Gonzales, Keia M. Kodama, Monét Alyessett, Shonna McDaniels, Tasha Nichole King, Unity Lewis.

UnchARTed Through the Years, Curated by UpperCloud Supporting the Sacramento arts community has been a focus of Arden Fair for decades. To continue this mission, the UnchARTed arts program was created in 2018 to celebrate and uplift Sacramento’s diverse artistic expression. 

Artist Talk On April 23 at 4:30 pm, we will be hosting an Artist Talk featuring several artists from the “Black Creativity at the Heart of Sacramento” exhibition. Attendees will get an in-depth look into the artists’ muses, inspirations, processes, and the intentions behind their art. Moderator: Faith J. McKinnie Featured Artists: Keia Kodama, Khimberly Marshall, Shonna McDaniels, Unity Lewis Join us in celebrating our beautiful city and the creative community that contributes to our vibrant arts and culture scene.
