Multifamily Forecast

John Shaffer, Multifamily Specialist Colliers International

Mr. Shaffer has been in the real estate industry for more than 25 years, concentrating his efforts in research, asset management, and institutional apartment sales.  He has successfully completed the sale of almost $2 billion of institutional multifamily properties nationally. 

During his career Mr. Shaffer authored Offering Memorandum’s successful in the closing of more than $700 million in new apartment construction business, and is also credited with developing and managing a national apartment research group that prepared marketing materials successful in the closing of an additional $1.5+ billion in multifamily transactions.  During his research efforts Mr. Shaffer pioneered the development of several analytical tools to assist in critical decisions related to product type and rental rates.

Industrial Forecast

Matt Cologna, Senior Director , Cushman & Wakfield 

Over the last 18 years Matt has successfully engaged in owner/user and investment sales, dispositions, landlord & tenant representation, land assemblage, build to suits and developer relations. He also works with the Cushman & Wakefield Global Supply Chain Solutions Group offering additional insight to current and future needs of Occupiers in the market. He has represented clients on a local, regional and national basis and completed over 8 million square feet of transactions in the last 6 years with a value exceeding $325 million.

Retail Forecast

Bryan Wirt, Retail Advisor, Kidder Mathews

Bryan Wirt specializes in retail and investment properties with extensive experience in shopping center re-positioning and development.

Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, Bryan was vice president at TRI Commercial for 3 years. He also has 2 years of experience as a vice president with Ethan Conrad Properties focusing on acquiring, leasing, and re-positioning retail centers throughout the greater Sacramento area.  After graduating from UCLA in 1982, Bryan joined Coldwell Banker Commercial as a retail specialist. After 11 years with Coldwell Banker, Bryan moved to Illiff Thorn and Company, which eventually became Colliers International. During this term he focused on retail leasing, ground up development, and tenant representation.

Office Forecast 

Jason Goff, Executive Vice President , CBRE

Jason Goff is the Executive Vice Presidents for CBRE Sacramento’s Advisory & Transaction Services group with a focus on office leasing and sales.

Goff has been instrumental in transactions involving the region’s largest institutional owners and employers and has led some of the Sacramento market’s most notable lease and sale transactions, totaling more than $1 billion in value.

Prior to joining CBRE, Goff served as Managing Director for JLL, overseeing leasing and sales activities in the Central Valley region. He was recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal in 2011 as one of Sacramento’s 40 Under 40 business leaders as well as the 2013 Sacramento Broker of the Year.

Sacramento Economic Forecast

Marie Davis, Senior Research Analysis, Greater Sacramento Economic Council 

 Marie Davis brings years of experience in public sector economic development practice and policy to Greater Sacramento. While earning her Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas, Marie interned at the United States Economic Development Administration, assisting in the distribution of $32 million in grants to the five-state Southwest region.

Marie also worked as a contributing researcher for the National Association of Counties’ “Strong Economies, Resilient Counties” report in 2014. In addition to economic development, Marie has a passion for leadership. She has taught leadership theory to university students and has been certified in supervisory skills from the University of Washington.
