In 1958, four activists aboard the Golden Rule sailed to stop nuclear weapons testing in the Marshall Islands, but were arrested in Hawaii and later the boat was damaged. The Golden Rule, restored by Veterans For Peace in Northern California, will stop in Sacramento on its journey down the California coast to halt the renewed nuclear arms race and alert the public about steps to nuclear disarmament.
