About the Big Bang! Business Competition
The annual UC Davis Big Bang! Business Competition provides free workshops and other events from October through April and concludes with pitches from five finalist teams at an awards ceremony in May.
The competition is open to everyone and provides a forum for college and university students, faculty, staff and the the public to collaborate, develop and test business ideas. You’ll find resources for mentorship, team creation, education and networking — and the winners receive cash prizes!
Participating in the Big Bang! provides a rich immersion in starting your business venture.But…you don’t have to compete to attend our workshops and build your entrepreneurial skills and network.
About Our Presenter
Benjamin R. Wang MD is Founder and Chief Medical Officer of NeVap Inc, a medical device start-up company that has developed a game changing device to prevent common Hospital Acquired Infections. Ben and NeVap won the First Prize in our 2014 Big Bang! Business Competition.
Ben is also the co-founder and chair of the board for Bottle to Bungalows, a non-profit organization addressing transitional homelessness utilizing green methods. Ben has been involved in several successful real estate ventures and is also a board member of Foothill Community Health Center in San Jose. Ben received his graduate medical training at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine and his undergraduate degree from UC Davis. On a personal note, Ben has donated thousands of hours to Science Education, Medical Mission work, and Habitat for Humanity NOLA. Ben is most interested in building great organizations and scalable projects with significant positive social impact.
