GearUp Cycle for Youth

Back Event Oct 12, 2013

The GearUp Cycle for Youth Bike Ride, a cooperative effort by the cities of Sacramento and West Sacramento, is a fun family ride along and around the beautiful Sacramento River that raises funds for regional youth programs. The GearUp Cycle for Youth Bike Ride was conceived by Councilmember Jay Schenirer and West Sacramento Mayor Christopher Cabaldon to fundraise for educational youth programs that target the underserved children in the Cities of Sacramento and West Sacramento.

Both West Sacramento Mayor Christopher Cabaldon and Sacramento City Councilmember Jay Schenirer are longtime advocates of education, afterschool programing and wraparound services for our region’s young people. Together they have over 20 years of advocacy and leadership making sure that young people in the Sacramento area have the essential tools and resources they need to be successful.

All proceeds from the GearUp Cycle for Youth will benefit WayUp Sacramento, a wraparound youth support network and FutureReady: The Mayor’s Trust for Youth charity.
