Miner’s Ravine Great Sierra River Cleanup-Placer Land Trust

Back Event Sep 16, 2017 @ 8:30 am

Calling all volunteers!  Again this year, Placer Land Trust is participating in the annual Great Sierra River Cleanup. This will be our 8th year hosting a cleanup to help keep our waterways free of trash and debris! As in previous years, we will be picking up trash from a section of the popular Miner’s Ravine Trail in Roseville.

The Great Sierra River Cleanup is coordinated by the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and is the premier volunteer event focused on removing trash and restoring the health of waterways throughout the entire Sierra Nevada Region. The cleanup is held in conjunction with California Coastal Cleanup Day and is the BIGGEST volunteer day in the State! During the first eight years of the Great Sierra River Cleanup, over 30,000 volunteers have joined together to remove over 817 tons of trash and recyclables from watersheds throughout the Sierra Nevada.   Last year, over 80 volunteers signed up for our cleanup and picked up nearly 800 pounds of trash!
