Thomas has been observing frogs, snakes, lizards, and turtles almost every summer for nearly 20 years. Although professionally an anthropologist, Thomas has been a keen amateur herpetologist since childhood and has searched for reptiles and amphibians in Europe, East and West Africa, and Central America.
