Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. More than half of all Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the United States each year.

Come celebrate Small Business Week by attending California Capital FDC’s May Marketplace on May 3rd at the California Automobile Museum. This free annual event focuses on supporting small businesses within the Capitol Region! Shop with 70 small businesses and learn about the latest products and services local vendors have to offer.

Join us every first Thursday in 2018 from May through September for five evenings of family fun, live music, food and play! Peruse the wares of local and regional artisans. Sip wine, craft beer or other adult libations while kids enjoy crafting, dancing, and other activities. Cheer on local performers, dance and meet local merchants, artists, farmers and nonprofits that are improving our community.

May the Fourth: Twilight Open Cockpit

Celebrate the Force at the Aerospace Museum on May 4th from 5 – 8 p.m. We’ll open up some of our 40+ aircraft so you can jump in the cockpit of these amazing planes. We’ll also have Star Wars-themed crafts, activities, cosplayers, and with a food truck on site, you won’t want to miss our first twilight open cockpit!

Oak Park Speaker Series

The Oak Park Speakers Series (OPSS), in partnership with St. HOPE’s Underground Books and the Greater Sacramento Urban League, is a 4-part lecture series featuring some of the most prominent African American leaders in the nation. The OPSS draws a full venue capacity of more than 200 business, civic, political and community leaders.

CBA Awards Banquet

Each May the College of Business Administration recognizes our exceptional students at our Annual Awards Banquet. Awards are given to nearly twenty graduating seniors who have achieved academic success while also contributing to the campus and community, along with scholarship recipients and those students who have held leadership roles in the College.
