River City Food Bank’s Empty Bowls

March 10th and 11th

Empty Bowls is River City Food Bank’s largest fundraising event to raise awareness in the fight against hunger in Sacramento County. Last year, Empty Bowls 2013 was attended by more than 1,300 people and raised more than $100,000, 96% of which directly funded our food programs. This year we hope to raise more than $125,000 to help meet the growing need in our community.

The evening soup supper will be held at the Sacramento Convention Center in Downtown Sacramento and features wine, appetizers, gourmet soup, breads and dessert from Classique Catering. All attendees will select one of over 1,500 beautiful handmade bowls donated by professional potters, glass artists, wood turners, and area students to take home with them as a reminder of the many in our community who are hungry and face an empty bowl each day.
