“For 95 years, Grebitus Jewelers has served the greater Sacramento region as a trusted jewelry and gift house, offering not only fine jewelry, watches and specialty gift items, but also providing valuable related services,” says owner Ted Grebitus. “As a true jewelry and gift house, we offer so much under one roof.”
Edwin and Dorothy Grebitus established the business in 1926 and built it during the Great Depression, offering the best quality available of everything they sold. Many train trips across the country to New York to find merchandise and make lasting contacts were a necessary part of their early efforts.
In 1950, Ed Grebitus, Jr. joined the firm and took it to new heights with his wife Elizabeth. Beth brought the business’s home décor and entertainment gifts to a new level.
In the 1970s, Ed’s sons Ted, Tom and Robert joined the company to continue the traditions of previous generations. Today, Ted Grebitus guides the business at their store in the Lyon Village shopping center on Fair Oaks Boulevard.
“We offer in-house jewelry design and manufacture, fine watchmaking, an international gift gallery, engraving services, complimentary gift wrapping and more,” says Ted Grebitus, Owner of Grebitus Jewelers.
Among the talented, experienced Grebitus staff is a dedicated certified gemologist and two former jewelry business owners with deep knowledge and commitment. Combined with some of their youngest employees — who possess tremendous people skills — their ability to care for customers is uniquely effective.
Whether designing new and unique jewelry or restoring and maintaining complicated timepieces, their in-house jewelers and master watchmaker have enabled customers to help treasured keepsakes last from one generation to the next.
“Maintaining the tradition of my grandparents and parents, Grebitus Jewelers cultivates sources throughout the country and the world, making us truly a fine gift and jewelry house without walls or borders,” Ted Grebitus says. That continuity carries over to their diamonds as well. “My grandfather cultivated relationships with renowned diamond cutters and sources so he could be known for carrying the finest diamonds available,” Grebitus says. “We’ve maintained those relationships throughout the store’s entire history, so we can be assured we’re providing the very best.”
Grebitus concludes, “We’re dedicated to our craft and gratified to see people enjoying our quality pieces and work.”
