The Fab 40′s 5k Run/Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California came to be in 2008 and is a great community event. We strive to make it even better every year.
Returning calligraphy instructor Phawnda Moore teaches an elegant, easy workshop using two colors to create rainbow lettering. A calligraphy nib and watercolor makes brilliant letters in monoline. This introductory class is for all levels, including beginners. We’ll learn two alphabets and create a short quote from several choices. This is a great technique for cards and gifts!

That’s the theme for this year’s Elevate Women’s Summit. This one-day event will feature all female speakers sharing their stories of building a business, working in largely male-dominated fields, focusing on self-care, learning how to develop strengths, bouncing back from failures and heartbreak, and ridding ourselves of imposter syndrome.
The Wood Brothers will headline the Bank of America Music Stage at the new Friday evening piece of the Farm-to-Fork Festival on Sept. 28, where they’ll be joined by Logan Brill (named by Cosmopolitan as one of “eight female country artists you should be listening to”) and local sensations the IdeaTeam.
In smaller groups we will tour the conservatory with two well known “plant people”, the conservatory curator and staff horticulturist. Next, we will wander the level and easily accessible gardens of the Arboretum on our own. We’ll enjoy a no-host lunch at a campus eatery. Lastly, we’ll tour and then have time to explore the Manetti Shrem Art Museum.
