The grapes:

Believing fine wine is grown in the vineyard, DeLoach crafted this wine using fruit carefully selected from premium vineyards throughout northern and central California. This achieves the unique balance of delicate Pinot characteristics and more intense fruit flavors found in the various terroirs. This Pinot Noir is light-ruby in color with aromas of strawberry jam and a touch of mint, almost a Beaujolais in style. To the taste, Queen Anne cherries, pomegranate and cranberry are the primary flavors with a hint of tobacco to round out the palate.

Where to find it:

The Eatery at Town Center Plaza in West Sacramento (eaterywestsac.com).

What to eat with this wine:

Crispy pork belly with fresh polenta, peach mustard and a watermelon and radish salad.
