Livingston Moffett 2004 Gemstone Vineyard red table wine, $90:

This Cabernet-dominated blend sources from the famous Gemstone Vineyard in Yountville. It exhibits notes of blackberry and raspberry with a little vanilla, nutmeg and violet. The palate displays raspberry, mocha and cassis, with a long velvety finish.

Where to find it:

At Mikuni’s upcoming series of wine and sushi dinners (mikunisushi.com) or at Capitol Cellars in Roseville and Granite Bay (capitolcellars.com).

What to eat with this wine:

Seared Road Kill (Kobe beef) nigiri, garnished with fresh ginger, garlic, chopped green onion, Yuzu salt and ponzu sauce. Alternatively, this dish also pairs well with the Conn Creek Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon on Mikuni’s wine menu.
