Mi Sueño 2009 Rosé, Napa Valley, $20:

This brilliant Rosé made by my friend Rolando Herrera is a unique blend of 30 percent Pinot Noir, 50 percent Syrah and 20 percent Malbec. The bouquet explodes with fresh strawberries, and from underneath come touches of white-pepper-dusted raspberries. In the mid-palate, you get a pretty mouthful. All of this is wrapped up in soft Malbec-infused rose petals. The finish features a clean, bright acidity.

Where to find it:

At The Firehouse Restaurant for $9 a glass or directly from Mi Sueño winery at misuenowinery.com.

What to eat with this wine:

Roasted beets, fresh strawberries, pickled onions and mache with fresh goat cheese and strawberry balsamic vinaigrette.
