Twisted River 2009 Chardonnay, Russian River Valley, $19:
Produced by fifth-generation Clarksburg farmer and vineyard owner Duke Heringer, this Chardonnay is made with Russian River grapes. The magnificent vineyards descend alongside redwood groves to meet the Pacific Ocean. This cool oceanic influence reveals the rich tropical flavors of the fruit. Straw to gold in color, ripe pineapple, honey and apple flavors abound, all contributing to a great length in the finish.
