Classical Concert: Stephanie and Saar: one piano, four hands

Presented by the Crocker Art Museum

Back Event Aug 13, 2017 @ 3 pm

The works featured in the exhibition “Full Spectrum: Paintings by Raimonds Staprans” showcase the beauty and drama of Staprans’ use of a single theme: still life. To extraordinary effect, duo Stephanie and Saar take inspiration from Staprans in a program featuring Bach’s The Art of Fugue, which also explores a single theme with astonishing variety.

Playing together on a single piano, Stephanie and Saar captivate with the complex and haunting masterpieces Bach composed at the end of his life. Included in the program will be the composer’s very last fugue, which he mysteriously left unfinished, confounding generations of scholars. Space is limited, and advance registration is recommended. $6 Museum members, $10 students/youth, $12 nonmembers. Tickets may be purchased at crockerart.org or at the Museum admission desk. Prelude Tours precede the concert at 1 & 2 p.m.
