“Glue, Paper, Scissors” The Curious and Whimsical Work of Kerri Warner (Sacramento, CA. July 11 – August 5, 2024) ARTHOUSE Gallery is proud to present “Glue, Paper, Scissors” the work of curious and whimsical work of Kerri Warner. The exhibition will run July 11th through August 5th at ARTHOUSE Gallery, 1021 R. Street in historic downtown Sacramento. An opening reception and opportunity to meet the artist will be held Saturday, July 13th from 5-8 in the gallery. “Glue, Paper, Scissors” is a collection by Northern California based artist, Kerri Warner. The work, a combination of contemporary design with unexpecting found and / or repurposed objects, is primarily produced with mixed media and collage. In these pieces we find pages from books, wrapping paper, found objects and antique hardware.
Warner’s pictures tell rich and vibrant stories using texture and detail. Each composition combines elements inspired by everyday moments, executed with a whimsical touch. Warner thrives on the puzzle of putting together pattern and color to depict her subjects, portraying body language and facial expressions that might make the viewer stop and ponder the situation or stir a memory of time spent with friends or family. Her imagination and observation of the world around her are the driving force behind her creations.
Kerri Warner’s work has been shown in galleries across the Nation and is included in the corporate collections of Blue Moon Brewing Company, Hard Rock International and UC Davis Children’s Hospital. Public Artwork commissions include a 17’ Whimsy Wall at the Salt Lake City International Airport and a Regional Transit Train in Sacramento, California. Her work has been included in the publications “INCITE, The Best of Mixed Media” in 2014 and 2015, and Art Folio Annual in 2021. Warner was named as one of the top ten artists to visit during San Francisco open studios in 2014. In 2019 she was awarded “Mixed Media Artist of the Year” by Art Design Consultants in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her work donated to 916 Ink (a children’s literature program) was featured in the book “Unnecessarily Beautiful Spaces for Young Minds” published in 2020. In 2017 she received the Outstanding Service Award from the Arts & Business Council of the Sacramento Region. She has dedicated the majority of her career to working with nonprofit organizations and, as an artist, striving to give back by participating in projects that strengthen the community.
Please join us on Second Saturday, July 13th to celebrate this talented and accomplished creator.
In addition to the Gallery Show, ARTHOUSE resident artists will open their studios to the public for Second Saturday, July 13th from 5:00 – 8:00.
