Historic Folsom Holiday Home Tour

Back Event Dec 9, 2016 @ 10 am

“Twas just weeks before Christmas and all through the town, no one was sleeping– there was bustling all around. The Historic Folsom Holiday Home Tour was approaching fast–with visions of by-gone eras and beautiful sites decorated in memory of holidays of past…”

Celebrating its 5th anniversary, the 2016 Historic Folsom Holiday Home Tour features nine (9) charming historic sites beautifully adorned for the holidays including one home featured as the “Decorators Showcase”. To commemorate the 5th anniversary, a special holiday highlight will include entrance to the newly opened Museum of Wonder & Delight, home of the fantasy Christmas collections of Dolph Gotelli — known to many as Father Christmas.

You’ll also find a wonderful art and hand-crafted holiday gift boutique at the Murer House, docents in period clothing and an opportunity to enjoy the season as you step back in time. Plus keep a look out for Frosty the Snowman…his appearances have been a big hit for the last two years!

Folsom’s historic district dates from the mid-1800s and has numerous remarkable homes and buildings that evoke memories of times long gone by. This year’s holiday tour celebrates architectural styles that range from the post-gold rush of the 1860s to the roaring 1920s and includes Victorian, Colonial Revival, Bungalow, Italianate, Arts and Craft and other one-of-a-kind dwellings and structures. Whether you are a history buff, an architectural aficionado or just curious, the Folsom Historic Holiday Home Tour Committee knows you will enjoy the tour and “may visions of gingerbread dance in your head!”

Purchase your tickets early as attendance is limited. Past tours have sold out in advance and we expect the same for this year’s much anticipated historic holiday event!
