Jazz Night: Sacramento Jazz Orchestra

Back Event Jun 18, 2015 @ 5:15 pm

If you like the sound of a big band, don’t miss the Sacramento Jazz Orchestra (SJO), kicking off Jazz Night on the main stage. Preserving the rich heritage of jazz, SJO is a 17-piece big band with a huge brass sound and a four-piece rhythm section composed of piano, bass, guitar, and drums. From Duke Ellington and Count Basie to Tito Puente, SJO gets audiences tapping, bopping, and dancing. Virginia Ayers-Dawson & Trio get things started on the Cafe stage. $7 Museum members, $12 Capital Public Radio members, $12 students/youth, $14 nonmembers.

Tickets may be purchased at crockerartmuseum.org, at the Museum Admission Desk, or by calling (916) 808-1182.

Curated and hosted by Vivian Lee, regional jazz matriarch and aficionado, Jazz Night makes the Crocker the cool place to be this summer. Jazz Night takes place every third Thursday through September.
