The Sacramento Food Film Festival is going out with a broccoli
bang! The closing night of the festival features a free community
screening of the new documentary Food Chains, by Executive
Producers Eva Longoria and Eric Schlosser. In this exposé, an
intrepid group of Florida farmworkers battle to defeat the $4
trillion global supermarket industry through their ingenious Fair
Food program, which partners with growers and retailers to
improve working conditions for farm laborers in the United
States.
Following the film screening, attendees will hear a panel
discussion on farm worker’s rights, from experts including Food
Chains Director Sanjay Rawal. Chips and salsa provided by
Chipotle Mexican Grill. Beer and wine will be available for
purchase.
