Walk4Literacy

Back Event Oct 17, 2015

The Walk4Literacy is an event designed to raise awareness of our community’s literacy crisis, along with creating resources to address this crisis. The family-friendly event, now in its 2nd year, features a 4-mile (approximately 10,000 steps) walk through several of Sacramento’s oldest neighborhoods. It finishes with a literacy resource fair at Cesar Chavez Park downtown, where participants, along with the entire community, can learn about and connect with agencies and organizations impacting children’s learning as well as enjoy author readings, live entertainment, and more.

Net proceeds from the Walk4Literacy will be distributed through an independent and neutral process to children’s reading and writing programs that directly address grade-level reading.
