As the former 3-term mayor of Pittsburgh, Murphy has extensive experience in urban revitalization. Discussing the role of public-private partnerships in revitalizing cities, Murphy will share how he successfully oversaw the development of more than 25 miles of new riverfront trails and urban green space and secured $1 billion in funding for the development of two professional sports facilities and a new convention center while leveraging more than $4.5 billion in economic development to transform blighted, abandoned industrial properties into new commercial, residential, retail, and public uses.
