Big Bang! Workshop: Defining the Problem and Solution

UC Davis Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Back Nov 16, 2017 @ 6 pm

The annual UC Davis Big Bang! Business Competition provides free workshops and other events from October through April and concludes with pitches from five finalist teams at an awards ceremony in May.

Defining the Problem and Solution

A key element in developing a viable business is clearly articulating the problem you are solving and your proposed solution. In this workshop, develop your initial key elements to define your business: the problem, solution, and value proposition.

Presenter Bri James is co-founder of Scrumpt, which won the 2015 Big Bang! competition. She says: “My passion for ideas and innovation has propelled me through my last decades of life. With a lawyer’s meticulousness and active right-brain, I’ve been inspired to create great things that solve complex (and not so complex) problems. As an obsessive notebook-buyer and perpetual doer who loves food, technology and design, I’m excited to channel all of my energy into the causes I believe in and motivate others to do the same.”
