Heroes of Arts Education Gala

Back Mar 16, 2023 @ 6 pm

Arts Leaders and educators are our heroes! They inspire and engage our school children through music, dance, theater and fine arts. Outstanding arts leaders and educators from many of the Sacramento County school districts will be recognized and celebrated at our first annual gala.

Friends of Sacramento Arts is honored to recognize Mayor Darrell Steinberg for his leadership and commitment to the arts and education in our community. Since the release of the Culture Plan in 2018, the Mayor has been a vocal proponent of a vital creative economy and the critical need to ensure every school child receives arts education.

We are also pleased to honor David Gordon, County Superintendent for Schools, for his leadership and commitment to K-12 public education. We are grateful for the partnership with the Sacramento County Office of Education and Mr. Gordon’s support of our mission to ensure equitable access to arts education in schools.

Finally, we are pleased to honor Dennis Mangers, a long-time leader and proponent of the arts. Through Dennis’s vision and guidance, Friends of Sacramento Arts was formed to address the gap in arts education occurring in our public schools and we recognize him as we enter our fifth year of advocacy and funding for the arts.

Please join Friends of Sacramento Arts on March 16 to honor these community leaders and local arts teachers making an impact in the lives of school children.

Tickets are $50 each and proceeds from the gala will help provide arts education programs in schools and ensure equitable access to a comprehensive arts education.
