It was a cold and breezy Thanksgiving Day, as I joined hundreds of others in their shorts and tanks or jackets and hoodies. We were all ready, in one fashion or another, to start the race for Courage House’s Turkey Trot in Elk Grove. The funds raised from the event would be put towards homing children rescued from sex trafficking. The course took us along some of Elk Grove’s busy streets and ended back at the business complex were we started. Each participant was given a medallion upon completion of the race.
