20th Annual Women United Luncheon

United Way California Capital Region (UWCCR) gathered on March 25 at the Croatian American Cultural Center for the 20th Annual Women United Luncheon. Guests were treated to powerful stories from local foster youth and regional leaders. The event raised funds to establish 30 matched savings accounts for foster youth.

On March 26, MLK Celebration Sacramento presented the 23rd annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Dinner at Sacramento State. The event featured emcee Larry Lee, publisher of The Sacramento Observer, and keynote speaker Crystel Patterson.

Welcome Home Campaign Launch

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center formally launched its Welcome Home Campaign to support the purchase and renovation of a permanent home for the LGBTQ+ community on March 26 at its new building at 1015 20th Street.

On Jan. 19, national nonprofit Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA) hosted a meet and greet featuring California State Treasurer Fiona Ma at Cafeteria 15L in downtown Sacramento. Attendees had the opportunity to network and learn more about Treasurer Ma in Cafeteria 15L’s beautiful outdoor space.

23rd Annual State of Downtown

The Downtown Sacramento Partnership’s 23rd annual State of Downtown, presented by Kaiser Permanente, was held on Feb. 22 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in downtown Sacramento. The event was an opportunity to celebrate the central city’s resiliency and preview new initiatives driving a brighter future for the heart of our region.
