The Company that Stopped Selling IT and Started Studying Construction

FUSE3 has spent almost 30 years learning what construction actually needs from technology.

Back Sponsored Aug 3, 2026

Ask Michael Greco, president of FUSE3, an IT and cybersecurity company, how it became the region’s construction IT specialist and he’ll tell you it wasn’t the plan. FUSE3 started in 1997 out of his apartment, doing IT work for whoever needed it. One of those early clients was in construction and that relationship led to another, then another, until referrals had quietly built construction into the largest part of his business.

“Customer service first, tech support second. That’s the whole philosophy and it’s why our clients stick with us.”— Michael Greco, President

Most managed service providers sell the same package to every client regardless of industry. FUSE3 listened instead and let what construction clients actually needed shape how the company operates. Each client works with a dedicated pod. It’s the same small team getting to know the business, the crew and the job sites better over time, and senior staff are embedded in that pod, not reserved for escalations. That means response times built around a job site’s pace rather than a help desk queue and a growing focus on using technology to help construction firms grow, not just stay running.

FUSE3 learned early that construction carries a wire fraud risk most industries don’t. Having work spread across many job sites instead of one office adds a layer of exposure if it isn’t managed with that in mind. Construction firms move six-figure decisions over email every day. Bid documents and subcontractor agreements pass between people who’ve never met in person, often with little to no verification process in between. This is a risk most IT companies never think to look for because they’ve never spent enough time inside the industry to notice it.

FUSE3 also stays heavily involved in the construction industry through an ongoing presence with the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange, including an event this fall built around helping construction companies modernize their operations without losing the pace the job site demands. Nearly 30 years later, construction is simply what FUSE3 does best.
