In a city that’s grown from quiet farmland to a vibrant, bustling community, Dignity Health is preparing to bring a new wave of care — and a healthy dose of humankindness — to Elk Grove.
Since opening the doors of Methodist Hospital of Sacramento in 1973, Dignity Health has been more than just a hospital provider. They have been a neighbor, growing alongside Elk Grove and South Sacramento, listening and responding as the community’s needs have evolved. Now, as Elk Grove blossoms, Dignity Health is answering with a vision rooted in compassion and connection.
“For more than 50 years, Dignity Health Methodist Hospital of Sacramento has proudly served the Elk Grove and South Sacramento communities. As these communities continue to grow, we are excited and stand ready to grow alongside them.” — Phyllis Baltz, President and CEO
The next chapter begins with the expansion of Dignity Health’s medical office building on Elk Grove Boulevard. Initial plans are underway to build out the third floor, making space for both primary and specialty care. For local families, this means more convenient access to care, right in their own neighborhood — no long drives, just a short trip to trusted faces who know your name.
And starting this June, a new Primary Express Care Clinic on Laguna Boulevard will open its doors, offering virtual and in-person visits for everything from flu shots to physicals. With extended evening and weekend hours, the clinic is designed to fit the rhythm of real life — because health shouldn’t have to wait.
“For more than 50 years, Dignity Health Methodist Hospital of Sacramento has proudly served the Elk Grove and South Sacramento communities,” says CEO Phyllis Baltz. “As these communities continue to grow, we are excited and stand ready to grow alongside them.”
Why now? Because Elk Grove is growing, and so is the need for care that meets people where they are — whether that’s through telehealth, outpatient services, or a friendly face at a local clinic.
But what truly sets Dignity Health apart is its commitment to community. From supporting local nonprofits to volunteering on community boards, Dignity Health believes health care is about more than medicine — it’s about kindness, connection and building a healthier future together. In Elk Grove, “Hello, humankindness” isn’t just a motto. It’s a promise.
