DRIVING THE FUTURE OF AI

Solidigm

Back Sponsored Dec 2, 2025

As a pioneer in enterprise data storage, Solidigm designs and manufactures enterprise solid-state drives (eSSDs) for data centers and AI infrastructure worldwide.

About 700 people work at its Rancho Cordova headquarters that serves as an R&D facility, while the company employs nearly 2,000 globally.

Born out of the memory division of Intel where it thrived for decades, the company was acquired by SK hynix and established as a standalone subsidiary in late 2021.

“As this AI era unfolds, our eSSDs help every watt and square inch count in the data center.” — Xin Guo, Co-CEO

“We have deep roots in this region going back to our Intel years and we’re proud to be headquartered in Rancho Cordova,” says Solidigm Co-CEO Xin Guo. “The Sacramento region offers a high quality of life and we can attract employees who don’t want to live in Silicon Valley and still enjoy a world-class technology career.”

Solidigm is the technology industry’s leading supplier of high-capacity storage for AI. The top Fortune 500 companies and about 70% of the top AI storage solution providers use Solidigm’s high-capacity drives.

“Part of our product leadership and technical innovation is working with customers to have the right solution validated for their applications,” Engineering Manager Fimy Sahaida explains, adding that Solidigm customers include technology AI leaders, equipment manufacturers, hyper-scalers and cloud companies. “Our eSSDs make a difference in many ways in end-user applications — helping improve medical imaging in MRIs, transforming film and television workflows and assisting a wildlife conservation tool that sequences animal genomes.”

Solidigm recently launched an AI Central Lab near its headquarters and also the world’s first cold-plate-cooled eSSD for fanless server designs. Their products are small in scale — from the size of a deck of playing cards to smaller — and they use less power and require less space in a data center environment compared to other storage solutions.

“As this AI era unfolds, our eSSDs help every watt and square inch count in the data center,” says Guo.

Solidigm also offers the industry’s highest capacity eSSD at 122 terabytes.

“We’re working on the next generations of drives that go beyond that in capacity and performance as we enable the AI era with the right storage solutions,” Guo says.
