Intech Mechanical celebrated their 30th anniversary in May. The company was founded in 1995 by Rick Chowdry and for years, Chowdry, Gary Myers and Mike Friesen had been the company’s ownership.
In 2021, a transition took place, with Friesen reducing his time and Pansy Romo stepping into the role of vice president of construction as part of the succession plan. Romo joined the ownership group in 2022. After a long, successful career and 25-year run at Intech, Friesen is moving into enjoying a full retirement this year and Don Grimes (construction and operations) and Lili Gonzalez (HR, accounting and finance) will join the ownership as the company continues to grow and evolve.
Intech is a full-service mechanical contractor with Roseville and Reno offices, currently executing roughly $65 million in revenue and employing more than 200 team members including registered professional engineers. Their core markets include health care, higher education, K-12, manufacturing and government, with landmark projects like the Capitol Annex and the Resources Building renovation and new Natural Resources building in the heart of downtown Sacramento.
“Rick and I are confident we’ve selected leaders in Pansy, Don and Lili who will see that Intech exceeds clients’ expectations for another 30 years.” — Gary Myers, Vice President
“Our people-focused culture sets us apart,” says Romo. “We empower entrepreneurial leadership and our employees treat this company as their own — continually implementing innovation in design, prefabrication and construction efficiencies to add value to every project we are contributors on. We hold our relationships, integrity and craftsmanship at the highest level of our business.”
Chowdry adds, “Our foremost value is to treat everyone the way we would want to be treated. We live by our slogan, ‘Building people, delivering results.’”
Backed by a timeless company ethos, the team remains committed to being a trusted partner and delivering exceptional service in the design and built environment. Romo states, “We’re focused on futureproofing the company and continuing to elevate the next generation of leaders within our team through training, technology, market insight and continuous learning while staying true to our core principles.”
With new leadership in place, Intech looks to be the go-to mechanical contractor for all clients. Gary Myers concludes, “Rick and I are confident we’ve selected leaders in Pansy, Don and Lili who will see that Intech meets and exceeds clients’ expectations for another 30 years.”
