Leading the Evolution of Construction

MARK III

Back Sponsored Aug 3, 2026

Mark III Construction is celebrating 50 years of leading the evolution of construction. Based in Sacramento since 1976, Mark III begins a new chapter at a 340,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility in McClellan Park.

Mark III is a product-driven manufacturing company with MEP installation capabilities operating through three divisions. M3 Components is a product and manufacturing business providing industrialized construction solutions. M3 MEP delivers complex mechanical, electrical and plumbing work for healthcare, data centers, life science, industrial and higher education clients. M3 Service partners with owners after construction to extend asset life and improve long-term ROI.

“The construction industry is undergoing a fundamental shift towards industrialized construction,” says Dan Carlton, Mark III’s owner, president and CEO. “The organizations leading that change are redefining how projects are delivered. We’re proud to be among those innovators.”

Three forces are reshaping construction: AI-driven design allowing for greater standardization, a shrinking skilled trades workforce, and rising demand for speed to market. In response, industrialized construction is emerging as the industry’s solution. Mark III is positioning itself at the front of this shift through productization — designing, manufacturing and assembling repeatable building components in a factory, rather than piece by piece on the jobsite.

Innovation is central to Mark III’s vision as construction evolves. Owners today want faster delivery, tighter cost control and smarter use of a constrained labor pool.

“We are responding by continuing to invest in our industrialized construction methods, moving work offsite and into a controlled manufacturing environment where building systems can be planned, built, tested and delivered with greater consistency,” Carlton says.

Mark III’s new facility is purpose-built for that model: large-scale production of modular pods, componentized wall panels and prefabricated MEP systems.

“As we look forward to the next 50 years and imagine celebrating 100, growth will only be half the story,” Carlton says. “We will invest in leadership development, strengthen and foster our safety culture, and expand our product lines to best serve our customers.”

This commitment reflects a belief that Mark III’s people have always been central to its growth and that their leadership, expertise and dedication will drive the company forward on the way to 100.
