PRIDE INDUSTRIES

PRIDE IN SACRAMENTO

Back Sponsored Mar 6, 2024

For nearly six decades, PRIDE Industries has been a regional and national leader in disability employment. Founded in Auburn and headquartered in Roseville, this innovative social enterprise has partnered with government and industry throughout the Capital Region and beyond and is proud of its ongoing relationship with the City of Sacramento.

“Partnerships with organizations like the City of Sacramento are key to demonstrating the high ROI of employing the very workers PRIDE Industries was founded to serve, whether through contracts we operate with government and industry partners, or through our workforce development programs,” says President and CEO Jeff Dern. “PRIDE employs nearly 2,000 team members with a disclosed disability, and we support more than 1,800 more people with disabilities in the community.”

PRIDE Industries hires can be found in private businesses around the region and across the country including Acushnet Golf (makers of Titleist and FootJoy brands), Thunder Valley Casino Resort, VSP Vision, Veritiv, and UNFI (United Natural Foods, Inc.), as well as working with public partners like American River Levee Cleanup, Midtown Maintenance Project, the Sacramento County Sanitation District, and Sacramento International Airport.

“We’re particularly proud of our contracts with the City of Sacramento and other regional public entities because these partnerships significantly expand access to employment for people with disabilities, strengthening the communities where our employees live and work.”  — Jeff Dern, President and CEO

In the City of Sacramento, the company’s employees can be seen taking care of a variety of city facilities like the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center, and Memorial Auditorium; outdoor spaces like East Portal Park and Southside Park; and even whole neighborhoods like Old Sacramento. From daily custodial work to landscaping and as-needed renovation projects, PRIDE Industries has been delivering a committed and diverse workforce to hundreds of partners, both public and private, since 1966.

“We’re particularly proud of our contracts with the City of Sacramento and other regional public entities because these partnerships significantly expand access to employment for people with disabilities, strengthening the communities where our employees live and work,” Dern says.

As the national leader in employment for disabled workers, PRIDE Industries offers preparation, placement, and ongoing support for “stellar employees who will love YOUR jobs” in a variety of lines of business, including contract manufacturing and commercial facilities management.

In pursuit of those “stellar employees,” PRIDE Industries offers traditional job fairs and, since 2021, its one-of-a-kind “I AM ABLE Employment Helpline” (844-I-AM-ABLE) for people with disabilities, military veterans, and former foster youth to make sure everyone who wants a job in our community will have the opportunity to contribute to and participate in the economic growth of the Capital Region for years to come.
