ROSEVILLE ELECTRIC

Back Sponsored Jun 28, 2024

In the vibrant city of Roseville, California, the community-owned electric utility is a feature that shines bright in the region and brings numerous benefits to its residents. Established shortly after the city itself, Roseville Electric Utility has a long-standing commitment to fostering economic growth and development, providing reliable and affordable energy that powers local businesses and enhances the quality of life.

By owning the electric utility, the City of Roseville saves residents and businesses more than $230 million each year compared to what it would cost being served by an investor-owned utility. These funds enhance and support the lifestyle many in Roseville have come to enjoy.

“The real value is not just in the amount of money you save on your monthly bill, but in the amount of customer service, quality of care and general comfort it can provide,” says Robert Cline, economic development project manager for the City of Roseville.

By maintaining local control, Roseville Electric is able to focus on what matters most: reliable power and dependable service. Reliable and affordable power is critical to many business operations. Places like data centers, hospitals and grocery stores depend on constant uptime in order to operate.

The utility’s commitment to excellence and reliability is evident in its recent achievements. Roseville Electric Utility has been awarded the prestigious Diamond designation from the American Public Power Association (APPA) RP3 program for the 2024-2027 period. This accolade is a testament to their high standards in reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. Such recognition places Roseville Electric among the top public power utilities in the nation, highlighting their exceptional service and community investment.

“We could not do it without the highly talented and dedicated staff that keep us running so efficiently. From our customer care center to the lineworkers out in the field, they all take pride in the quality service they provide.” says Dan Beans, CEO and director.

For the first time ever, the City of Roseville has been selected to host the 2025 APPA’s Lineworkers Rodeo. Scheduled for next March 28 and 29 in Roseville, this event is often referred to as the “Olympics for lineworkers,” attracting top talent from across the country to compete and showcase their skills. Hosting this prestigious event not only brings national attention to Roseville, but also generates significant economic activity, benefiting local businesses and the community at large.

The dedicated energy that Roseville Electric puts back into its community and contributes to its growth is more than just in power alone. It is in the peace of mind knowing that as a customer, you are somehow paying less and getting more — a rare treat in the modern world.
