HEALTHCARE STRATEGIST BRINGS CLINIC & OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE TO ROLE

Back Sponsored Jun 30, 2025

Shriners Children’s Northern California introduces Aaron Lloyd, market director of planning and business development. Lloyd brings experience from his health care career that spans two decades and includes expertise in frontline patient care as well as managerial roles overseeing multiple hospital departments.

Lloyd launched his health care career on two fronts in college, earning his bachelor’s degree in health science and his master’s in public health while also working as an emergency medical technician. He then served with the Fresno County Health Department as a health education specialist, but missed the more direct patient care and began a career with a hospital system in Fresno County.

I’m able to use my educational and operational experience to create business strategies for Shriners Children’s, communicating with depth of knowledge among health care professionals as well as guiding and supporting my own team.”— Aaron Lloyd, Market Director of Planning
& Business Development

In that hospital setting for 10 years, Lloyd rose from data analyst to managing the bariatric surgery department and ultimately to director over multiple operational departments, including surgery and outpatient programs. He began his Shriners Children’s role in late 2023 after moving to Sacramento and is responsible for identifying and advising on strategic initiatives to help the hospital achieve its goals and objectives.

“This position is a great fit for me,” he says. “I’m able to use my educational and operational experience to create business strategies for Shriners Children’s, communicating with depth of knowledge among healthcare professionals as well as guiding and supporting my own team.”

Lloyd’s team consists of physician liaisons who meet with outside referring physicians and convey the attributes of Shriners Children’s to secure referrals for their patients. “As a leader, I have learned to recognize what my skills are and what they aren’t. My team members are the experts in their work, so I embrace a servant mentality of supporting them with an overall strategy, supplying needed data and letting them excel at their specialty.”

Shriners Children’s Northern California provides the highest-level care to children regardless of a family’s ability to pay or insurance status. With help from Lloyd and his team, countless children will continue to lead fuller, longer lives thanks to that superior level of care and that benevolent business model.
