Moorefield Construction’s story is rooted in family, resilience and a commitment to doing things the right way. In the early 1950s, Harold Moorefield, alongside his brother, father and brother-in-law, founded a small framing company serving projects across Los Angeles. By 1957, Harold officially established Moorefield Construction, expanding into general contracting while continuing to self-perform key trades. His hands-on approach and insistence on quality quickly built a reputation for excellence across retail, commercial and industrial sectors.
Following Harold’s passing in 1982, his wife, Ann, together with their sons Mike, Larry and Hal, carried the company forward. Having grown up immersed in the business, the next generation upheld Harold’s values — placing relationships, integrity and client trust at the center of every project. This foundation fueled steady growth, including the opening of a Sacramento office in 1990, allowing Moorefield to expand its reach throughout Northern California and beyond. Today, the company operates across 15 states with more than 68 years of continuous experience and has had the privilege of working with 17 different tribes nationwide — building lasting partnerships rooted in trust and shared success.
That legacy is evident in Moorefield’s recent work. At Acorn Ridge Casino, the team delivered a 55,000-square-foot, ground-up facility for the Ione Band of Miwok Indians, overcoming major site challenges by relocating 220,000 cubic yards of earth to create a buildable pad. The finished casino features nearly 500 slot machines, 12 table games and two restaurants, all completed more than $3 million under budget and over two months ahead of schedule.
Looking ahead, Moorefield Construction has been entrusted with delivering the new Sacramento Republic FC Stadium, a 20,000-seat venue that will serve as a cornerstone of downtown Sacramento’s Railyards redevelopment. As the general contractor, Moorefield will lead workforce coordination, subcontractor management and day-to-day construction, helping bring a transformative civic landmark to life.
Additional notable projects include work at Hard Rock Casino for Enterprise Rancheria, the Wilton Rancheria Roundhouses, Caesars Republic Sonoma County for the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians, and Black Oak Casino Resort for the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians — each reinforcing Moorefield’s reputation as a trusted partner in complex, high-profile developments.
