Hundreds of people lined the streets in Downtown Sacramento on September 11 to honor three men — Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone — during the Sacramento Hometown Heroes Parade. The three men are hailed as heroes for helping stop a terrorist plot on Aug. 21 aboard a Paris-bound train.
The 17th Annual Race for the Arts 5K and Kid’s Fun Runs were held August 22 in William Land Park. It was an event with exercise, entertainment, and plenty of fun. Runners and walkers were entertained by costumed characters, music, art, dance, and interactive booths.

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center held the 2015 Pride Awards on August 18 to celebrate successes and recognize acts of leadership and everyday heroism that make a difference in the LGBT community. Metro EDGE recently hosted an interactive mixer at Blue Prynt in which attendees were able to network with other young professionals while playing “Guess Who!?” Each attendee received a character name that was placed on their back and they had to walk around and ask yes or no questions to try and figure out who they were.
