Nicolette Lovell was born and raised in Northern California. Most often, she can be found exploring cities for hidden gems, grubbing down at her favorite restaurants, or running into the wilderness with her family. Storytelling is her passion. She is a cause-driven, travel photographer available for travel worldwide.

Marissa Lewis is the art director for Comstock’s magazine. She earned her degree in graphic design from University of the Pacific in 2016. In addition to being a designer, Marissa enjoys reading comics, playing video games, and watching the latest movies and TV shows. Currently, she lives in Sacramento with her husband. Hector Amezcua
Hector Amezcua is a freelance photographer for Comstock’s. An award-winning bilingual photojournalist based in Sacramento, he worked for the McClatchy Company for 27 years and received an FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems license in 2017.
Most recently, he covered California’s largest wildfires, the Tubbs, Carr and Camp fires. In 2019, he was a finalist for the Northern California Emmy Awards for the video “When Paradise Became Hell: The Story of The Camp Fire.”
Carly Cornejo
Carly Cornejo is the former art director for Comstock’s magazine.
She discovered her passion for publication design through an internship in New York City at a national magazine. As her career advanced she has found herself in the art director’s position for several magazines in and around the Sacramento area.
She graduated from Sac State with a bachelor’s of science in graphic design.
Wes Davis
Wes Davis is an artist and photographer based in Northern California. After completing a degree in photography from Sacramento State, he spent 12 years directing an art gallery and managing a mixed-use photography studio. Kial James
Kial James is an award-winning photographer and artist based in Nevada City, California whose work has been published all over the world. Kial’s images are infused with colorful landscapes, stunning astro photography, picturesque scenes of the Gold Country and his muse, The Yuba River.
Mariah Quintanilla
Mariah Quintanilla is a freelance illustrator based in the magical forests of Northern California. After earning a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University, she discovered that she could marry her passion for storytelling and art by illustrating for publications. Since then, she has regularly illustrated for Sacramento Magazine and continues to create commissioned art for various clients.
Ashley Hayes-Stone
