The Sacramento Children’s Home kicked off its 150th Anniversary Celebration Feb. 1, with a business luncheon at the Golden 1 Center. The luncheon celebrated not only the home’s history, but also the important role Sacramento’s business leaders continue to play in caring for our community’s most vulnerable children and families.

The Sacramento Ballet held a Moroccan-themed fundraiser Jan. 21 at Memorial Auditorium in downtown Sacramento. Contributions from the Gala were given toward funding community arts, performances and outreach programs.

The West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce’s 70th Annual Installation and Awards Dinner was held Jan. 17 at the West Sacramento Civic Center Galleria. Businessperson of the Year was awarded to AJ Tendick of Bike Dog Brewing Co., and Fulcrum Property was recognized as the West Sacramento Business of the Year.

Air Systems Service and Construction celebrated the company’s 21st Birthday with a party for more than 250 clients, industry partners and employees on January 21st at the MIX Downtown night club.

The Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association and the Capital Asian American Professional Society celebrated the holidays with a mixer at the APAPA National Headquarters in Natomas, on Dec. 5. Guests brought an unwrapped toy, a gently-used child’s coat or canned food to donate.

The Greater Sacramento Economic Council held their Inaugural Dinner on Dec. 7, at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento. Guests watched a special performance by Sacramento artist David Garibaldi and enjoyed speeches from leaders in the region about the strategic vision of our market. 

The official swearing-in and inauguration of new Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg was held at the California Railroad Museum on Dec. 13. Steinberg, along with returning council members Larry Carr, Eric Guerra, Steve Hansen and Allen Warren, were sworn in by California Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye. 

The Sacramento Asian Chamber, Sacramento Black Chamber and Sacramento Hispanic Chamber joined together on December 15th at the Wells Fargo Building for an evening of holiday fun, and to celebrate the previous year’s successes.

The Metro Chamber was pleased to partner with Sacramento County to present this year’s premier forum focused on the state of the county and the exciting efforts to support our growing business community on November 4 at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Sacramento, with keynote speaker Kelvin Downes, director of operations at Amazon Robotics Fulfillment Centers.
