The 2016 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light The Night Walk celebrated and honored blood cancer survivors, supporters and loved ones lost with music, food, fireworks and festivities. The highlight of the event was a beautiful evening stroll with participants carrying illuminated lanterns around Raley Field, across the Tower Bridge and along the Sacramento River.

Sacramento’s 27th annual National Philanthropy Day was held on Nov. 16, at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento. National Philanthropy Day, originally commemorated in 1986, pays tribute to Americans for their generous support of the nonprofit community.

The California Automobile Museum partnered with performance artist David Garibaldi for their annual dinner titled Art of the Car.  The November event was attended by nearly 250 guests and featured a farm-to-fork dinner served family-style, live music, and a special VIP reception with the artist.

The Greater Sacramento Economic Council held their Inaugural Dinner on Dec. 7, at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento. Guests watched a special performance by local Sacramento performance painter David Garibaldi, and enjoyed speeches from leaders in the region about the strategic vision of our market. 

The 25th anniversary celebration for Corporate Design Group was held at Timber Creek Lodge Ballroom. Live music by Clemon Charles, festivities and an array of libations and cuisine delights were the order of the evening. Carol Little, CEO, announced that Christine Horton is now a shareholder and Principal at CDG.  

On October 27th at the Sutter Club, Dale Carlsen spoke to CRFBC members and guests about how and why he founded The Sleep Train, Inc. in 1985 and how his guiding principles shaped his business and the Ticket to Dream Foundation in 2008.

In honor of PRIDE’s 50th anniversary, PRIDE Industries Foundation Board of Directors hosted a gala on Oct. 14, 2016 at the PRIDE Industries Corporate Offices. The evening included friends and supporters of PRIDE’s mission to create jobs for people with disabilities.

The National Association of Women Business Owners, Sacramento Valley Chapter dinner and awards was at Arden Hills Spa and Resort on October 20, 2016. The annual event, established in 1997 by the NAWBO Sacramento Valley chapter, has become a tradition as it pays tribute to top achievers among women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders.

This year’s annual Jessup Gala was held on Oct. 30 at Sacramento’s Hyatt Regency. The theme was “Light the World.” This event raises funds for student scholarships and features a look at some of the university’s students, both past and present and those still to come.
