The Greater Sacramento Urban League held the Unity Ball at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento on April 26. The annual Unity Ball is a special event where community leaders come together to celebrate the Urban League’s accomplishments and impact while raising critical funds to support the important programs that help underserved youth and adults achieve economic self-reliance.

The Sacramento SPCA held the 25th annual Doggy Dash at William Land Park on April 28  in Sacramento. The event is the largest dog 2k/5k walk and festival event in Northern California. Funds raised at this event provide medical care to sick or injured animals, low cost vaccinations and spay/neuter services for the local community, behavior training and humane education programs.

The Woodland Chamber of Commerce Annual State of the City Luncheon was held on April 11 at the Woodland Community Center. Mayor Enrique Fernandez gave city updates and attendees enjoyed a meal by Cracchiolo’s Market & Catering. It was a zero waste event.

The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce held its 37th annual golf tournament at Elkhorn Golf Club in Stockton on April 9. The event was followed by a post tournament party, raffle and awards ceremony.

HaneyBiz held its Entrepreneur Unleashed event at Allegiant Giving in Rocklin on April 26. The event featured a panel discussion with Roger Akers from Akers Capital, Kwame Anku from Black Angels Tech Fund and Vaibhav Nadguada from Moneta Ventures and was moderated by Mark Haney, founder/CEO, HaneyBiz.

Social Venture Partners held the 2018 Fast Pitch event on March 8 at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. The event brought together over 800 business and community leaders from the Greater Sacramento region to hear 10 nonprofits pitch for for an opportunity to win over $30,000 in funding and in-kind support.

Sacramento Ballet held the Black & White Gala: A Ron Cunningham and Carinne Binda Tribute on March 17 at the Sacramento Convention Center. Presented by Western Health Advantage, and produced by Pecorelli Productions, the event celebrated 30 years of artistic excellence from honorees Ron Cunningham and Carinne Binda.

Power Inn Alliance held its 24th Annual luncheon on March 23 at Harper Alumni Center at Sacramento State. The luncheon featured a keynote address from Bill Gaines, founder of Transfer Flow, Inc. and one of the creators of the North State Grow Manufacturing Initiative and Directory, on the importance of manufacturing in the community and the role of the workforce.

American Sikh Public Affairs Association hosted its second Civic Engagement Dinner on Feb. 20. The event honored elected officials that have made a stand for civil rights. The American Sikh Public Affairs Association is a nonpartisan charitable entity that engages community members to participate in civic and public affairs.

The Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce held its 25th Anniversary Celebration on Feb. 22 at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Sacramento. The Matsui family was honored as the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award recipients.
