Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Class IX Graduation
The Nehemiah Community Foundation was pleased to introduce the graduating NELP Class IV on June 25 — a group of 10 young professionals who have undergone an extensive 9-month program to prepare them for effective and ethical leadership within their organizations and communities. The graduation ceremony was held at the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg and included 140 business and community leaders, program alumni and a keynote address by Assemblywoman Dr. Shirley Weber.

UC Davis Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship held its 2018 Big Bang! Business Competition Finalist Presentations & Awards Ceremony on May 24. The top five BigBang! Business Competition teams pitched their business ventures to compete for funding.
UCP Sacramento Humanitarian of the year
The 25th Annual UCP Humanitarian of the Year gala took place May 17th at the Hyatt Regency, hosting 390 guests who enjoyed a reception performance by Vivian Lee, and raised more than $250,000 for children with developmental disabilities including autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, epilepsy and cerebral palsy. The UCP Humanitarian of the Year honoree this year was Ann Madden Rice, CEO of UC Davis Medical Center.

The Greater Sacramento Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society held its 2018 Man & Woman of the Year Grand Finale Gala on May 12 at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento. This annual black tie event culminated in the announcement of Man & Woman of the Year and Boy & Girl of the Year honorees.
